Yesterday we did a simulation of the rock cycle. Much of this was review of the process of erosion and deposition and the formation of sandstone but there was some new information related to igneous and metamorphic rock. Many of you have good background knowledge of these two rock types. The simulation was a lot of fun!

Today I asked you an investigation question that related directly to the new knowledge you gained doing the rock cycle work yesterday.


How does the temperature of the cooling water affect the size of the crystals that are formed?

It was interesting to me that most of you did not relate the two activities together!!!

What feedback could you give the two students below to improve their conclusion?
