Learning target today; I can gather evidence to infer why there are fossils in the Kaibab Limestone.
It was so interesting to hear your initial ideas about the fossils in the Kaibab layer. We spent some time gathering evidence for our inference. Well done to the students who led the discussions today you all did a great job.

This is a letter to Fredy describing the North Canyon. you made conceptual models of the North Canyon and today we elaborated on this idea!
after your descriptions you created a conceptual model of the Grand Canyon between mileposts 20 and 52.
This seemed like a huge feat at first but once you were able to visualize in your head what this might look like, it was easier to make the model.

When Powell took his second trip down the Colorado River he took more tools with him so he could make better and more detailed observations. Today on your second day of observing the two canyons you had access to a more sophisticated tool, the stereoscope.
I noticed that you were making more detailed observations as this new tool was much more powerful than the hand lenses you were using yesterday.
