Field Visit #6

5/8/2013

Picture
Today we continued our discussion of photosynthesis. I hope that one of the ideas you can away with is that plants provide the oxygen for living organisms to breath.

With this in mind I asked the question 'How can we improve the oxygen levels in the pond?'

During our pond visit today we noticed that the water level is very low, down 6cm from the last visit! We also noticed very fat tadpoles and some with legs, plus we saw the tiniest pond skaters!!!

Good luck everyone for tomorrow's math MSP. See you all friday when we will be modeling the process of photosynthesis!

Photosynthesis

What great weather to talk about photosynthesis!!!
On the initial survey, many of you thought that soil was needed for producers/plants to make food. hopefully you now know that there are just 2 materials needed for theplant to make food.

Today was a lovely day in class as you all carefully completed your plant field notes page.
If for any reason you did not get this done please complete the page over the weekend and turn it into the folders on Monday.

Enjoy the lovely weekend!

What a treat, I had every 7th grade student through my room today!!! You were all wonderful while working to draw and identify the producers in the pond and its surroundings.

Today for our 5th visit we were focusing on 2 things:
1. What effects did the heavy rains have on the pond?
2. Stand by an example of a producer and make an accurate , detailed drawing of the plant/ tree/ shrub.
