The learning target for today was that everyone should be comfortable using the new vocabulary. I was happily surprised that most of you do feel comfortable with the vocabulary! A few of you say you need more practice and don't worry we will be practicing some more. For now I have an image of a woodland ecosystem below. See if you can identify individuals, populations, communities and the abiotic factors in this ecosystem.  
Today we had work time in the lab principally to work on the science fair investigation. In the lab we will: 1. Work on your science fair project. PLease check the science fair blog for specific information. 2. Get any late work to me. Hunt in your binder and turn in any ungraded work. I can not believe that it has been almost a week since I updated my blog! We started on our new unit today and began by recalling characteristics of living things from 6th grade. Great discussions!!! This unit is so exciting and includes a field study so we can get outside at least once a week. For the rest of this week we will be watching a program about Jane Goodall on Thursday and on friday there is time to work on the science fair project.
What fun designing crazy machines to perform a simple task! Tomorrow you will present some of your ideas so I will post some of the pictures in tomorrow's blog. I also got to talk to everyone about the science fair projects. They all sound fabulous!
